Hall of Fame Criteria/Qualifications

  FORMER STUDENT-ATHLETE ELIGIBILITY

To  be eligible a former athlete must have completed his/her final collegiate athletic competition at least ten (10) years prior to the induction year and achieved recognition as a:

• Record Holder
• Team Leader
• Champion
• Outstanding Performer
• All-American Designation (not limited to NCAA designation)

  FORMER COACH AND ADMINISTRATOR ELIGIBILITY

• Immediately upon retirement or death
• Five (5) years after employment in the Howard University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics
• Have demonstrated loyalty and support to Howard University athletics.

OTHER ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

• No more than ten (10) people may be inducted at one time.
• Athletes remain eligible through five (5) induction opportunities with exception of Old Timers.  Old Timers are former athletes who competed prior to 1970.  They remain eligible in perpetuity.
