Terrell Allen supports the Athletics Department as acting Associate Director of Finance.  In this role, Mr. Allen is responsible for overseeing the Finance and Business operations of Athletics. Prior to joining Athletics, Mr. Allen worked for three years in the Howard University Office of Financial Reporting and Analysis.  There, he developed annual operating and capital budgets, recommended performance targets and analyzed results variances.  He also developed forecasts and alternative budgeting strategies, monitored actual results and prepared monthly and quarterly analyses.  Mr. Allen also performed investment analyses, analyzing capital projects and initiatives and real estate investment to determine most advantageous cash flows, NPV and ROI to the University.

Before joining Howard University family, Mr. Allen served as founder, owner and president of a personal services firm focused on financial planning, budgeting, accounting and asset management for small businesses and individuals.

Prior to founding his own company, Mr. Allen spent 15 years in the Telecommunications industry in positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of strategic planning and financial analysis.  He was a Vice President of Finance in LightWave Communications, a Senior Manager at MCI/WorldCom, and a Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis at Verizon Communications.

On the athletics side, Mr. Allen was a high school and college student-athlete, and has successfully coached both men and women in AAU and high school basketball.  He has also coached travel baseball and soccer teams.

Mr. Allen is a graduate of Howard University, and is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. He earned his graduate degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  He currently lives in Bowie, Maryland with his wife, and three children.
