Ted White is in his second season as the team’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. White came to Howard from Southern University where he served as quarterbacks coach. During his time at Howard, White cemented his name in history, accumulatimg numerous accolades by setting several career records. White remains the MEAC and Howard all-time leading passer with 9,908 yards and still leads the conference and school in passing completions (638) and touchdowns (92). He set the MEAC record for a single-game best mark in passing yards with 561 and eight touchdowns on October 17, 1998 against MEAC rival Florida A&M.
By the close of his collegiate career he notched 1,169 passing attempts and 9,845 total offensive yards––numbers that still leave him the MEAC and Howard all-time leader in total offense. Following his groundbreaking performances on the collegiate level, White played professionally for five years with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. White also had stints with the Barcelona Dragons of NFL Europe and the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.
