INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - Chevonne Mansfield, the Assistant Sports Information Director at Howard University, recently completed the 2008-09 NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males and Females. Mansfield was one of 10 females and 22 total participants in this year's class.

The institute was designed to address the critical shortage of senior-level professionals of color at NCAA member institutions and within conference offices. The 12-month program emphasizes leadership and administration, human resource management, finance and fundraising, booster, public and media relations during four weekend sessions and one week-long meeting in Indianapolis. The institute was facilitated by a diverse group of leaders in business, higher education and intercollegiate athletics.

Mansfield recently completed her second year at Howard. Her responsibilities include working with the olympic sports at HU and assisting with the promotion of football and men's basketball.
