The Howard athletic family is mourning the death of former men's soccer player Andrew Wayne Fortune. The 27 year old was shot and killed Friday night in his Lithonia, Georgia home.

Police say the two suspects entered Fortune's home and demanded money. Fortune and one of the suspects engaged in a struggle and the victim was shot, police say. He later died at Grady Memorial Hospital.

DeKalb police said Monday, no arrests had been made and no warrants have been issued.

Fortune, a tattoo artist, operated Black Heart Ink LLC in his home.

While at Howard, Fortune played defender for the Bison for three years, from 2002 to 2005. He was also an architecture major.

He is survived by his sister, Alyssa, who was a member of the women's soccer team, as well as his mother Christine and father Wayne.
