Bethea Named To Defensive Checklist

Howard University’s Antoine Bethea has been selected to the Buck Buchanan Watch checklist for the second straight year. The Buck Buchanan Award is presented to the top defensive player in 1-AA annually. Bethea is among 16 players who made the list.

A 5-10, 185-pound senior safety from Newport News, VA, Bethea was named to All-MEAC and the Sheridan Broadcasting Network (SBN) Black College All-American first teams for the past two years. He is among a select group of players who have earned that distinction.

Bethea led the Bison with 99 total tackles and three interceptions in 2004 and has ranked among all 1-AA players in solo tackles the past two seasons.

The winner of the award will be honored on December 15, 2005.
