Cooper was named the 2008 MEAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. He also garnered preseason All-MEAC first team honors.

2007 (RED-SHIRT JUNIOR): Had a monster year, recording 50 solos and 38 assists (second on team in total tackles with 88); finished third in TFLs (8) and first on the team with three fumble recoveries...Named to the All-MEAC second team in 2007.

2006 (RED-SHIRT SOPHOMORE): Recovered completely from an injury that kept him off the field in 2005...Recorded 18 solos and 32 assists, finishing second on the team in TFLs (11) and sacks with 8.5 while recovering two fumbles... Received National Player and MEAC Player of the Week honors after recording a five-sack performance against Bethune-Cookman in 2006.

2005: Did not play (Medical Red-Shirt).

2004 (FRESHMAN): Had a fine freshman campaign and emerged as a playmaker...played in nine games and tallied 10 solos, eight assists, a tackle for a loss and a team-high six quarterback hurries.

High School: Attended C.D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge, Va...Was named All-District, All-Region and All-State in 2002 and 2003....Was also named to the Golden-11 and Super-44 in the state of Virginia...Garnered First Team All-Journal and First Team All-Area honors...Named Prince William Extra Defensive Player of the Year in 2002...Earned letters in football, basketball, and track (2001-03)...Led his team to a state championship in football in 2002...also helped the squad to district and regional titles from 2001-03...Had 143 tackles during his junior year and 109 his senior season.
