VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. - Will Croner has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after his performance led Howard to a 14-11 win over Georgetown this past Saturday.

The 6-2, 280-pound senior defensive end from Wilmington, DE recorded six tackles, two sacks and an interception.  Croner's intercception came in the game's waning moments and stopped a Georgetown drive that could have either tied or won the game for the Hoyas.

Croner was a key to the defensive effort that limited Georgetown running attack to 40 yards and picked off three interceptions.
