The Game
This is a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference match-up between
the Bison of Howard University and the Hornets of Delaware State
University. The Bison (2-8 overall, 0-7 in the MEAC) are coming off
a 21-10 home loss to Bethune-Cookman last Saturday while the
Hornets (3-7 overall, 2-5 in the MEAC) are coming off a 21-16 loss
to Norfolk State University at home this past Saturday.
Howard has lost six straight while the Hornets are 2-2 in their
last four games.
The Coaches
Howard University is coached by Carey
Bailey (University of Tennessee, '92) who is 7-25 in
three-plus seasons while Delaware State is coached by Al
Lavan (Colorado State, ‘68), who is his sixth season
and has a 32-17 record to date there.
New Additions
Veteran assistant coach Nick Calcutta takes over the
duties of offensive line coach and offensive coordinator...Jafar
Williams, a former standout wide receiver at the University of
Maryland, takes over as wide receivers coach for Alvin
Harper...Reggie Ellis enters his first season as defensive line
coach and William Smith will serve as kicking coach.
