Howard To Be Featured In PreSeason College Football Special

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Howard University football team will be featured in the WJLA ABC TV Annual College Football Special tonight at 8 pm.  The segment on Howard will feature Head Coach Carey Bailey, Willie Carter and wide receivers coach Jafar Williams.

Coach Bailey, who is entering his third season, will talk about the upcoming season and its prospects along with some comments on Carter, a talented sophomore wide receiver.

Carter, who set new school records for receptions and TD receptions by a freshman, will talk about the 2008 season when he caught 44 passes before suffering a broken leg that ended his season after only six games.  Carter, who was still named the MEAC Rookie of the Year, will also talk about his rehab and what he expects for the upcoming season.

Williams, who was a standout locally at the University of Maryland as a wide receiver, will talk about working with Carter and how he views his potential.

The Bison open the season on September 12 when they travel to New Brunswick, N.J. to take on Rutgers at 3 pm.
