TALLAHASSEE, FLA. - The Howard University football team will make its national TV debut on Thursday when it takes on the Rattlers of Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL at 7:30 pm on ESPNU. The game is part of the MEAC/ESPNU TV package.
The Bison (0-1) will be looking for their first win of the season after dropping the season opener to Rutgers last Saturday while the nationally ranked Rattlers (2-0, 1-0 in the MEAC) will be looking to remain undefeated following wins over Delaware State in their season opener and a con-conference win over Winston-Salem State last Thursday. That game was also broadcast on ESPNU.
Howard will be showcasing the passing combination of quarterback Floyd "Bo" Haigler to wide receiver Willie Carter, the 2008 MEAC Rookie of the Year.
FAMU will counter with All-American candidate QB Curtis Pulley, who ranks among the nation leaders in total offense and dangerous return specialist Leroy Vann, who returned two punts for TDs against WSSU and holds NCAA records.
Veteran Charlie Neal will handle the play by play and former Howard University All-American quarterback Jay "Sky" Walker will provide expert color commentary.
Howard will appear on the national stage again on October 15 when it will take on the Bears of Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD at 7:30 pm on ESPNU.
