Keith Pough Named MEAC Rookie of the Week
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Keith Pough has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for his performance in Howard University's 7-3 win over Winston-Salem State University this past Saturday.
A 6-3, 225-pound red-shirt freshman from Orangeburg, SC, Pough recorded six solos, four assists, two tackles for losses and two QB hurries. Pough's play was instrumental in the Bison's defense limiting the Rams' to 139 yards of total offense. It marked the second time this season that Pough, who leads the team in tackles and ranks among the conference leaders, has received the honor.
Also receiving honorable mention were Willie Carter, Will Croner and Patrick Wolff. Carter, a 6-2, 190-pound sophomore from Denmark, SC, caught seven passes for 116 yards and the team's only TD. Croner, a 6-2, 280-pound senior from Wilmington, DE, finished with seven tackles including two sacks and three QB hurries. And Wolff, a 6-1, 210-pound red-shirt junior from Wurselen, Germany, had the most effective day of his career, averaging 40 yards on eight punts, knocking five of them inside the WSSU 20-yard line
