Carter Joins Pough In Preseason Honor

Washington, DC—Howard University’s Willie Carter has been named to the preseason watch list for the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Wide Receiver of the Year Award given by the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA).  He joins teammate, linebacker Keith Pough, who has been also been cited.

The CFPA gives out weekly and yearly positional awards based on objective, scientific ratings of the extent to which the players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.

In 2010, the 6-3, 195-pund senior from Denmark, SC led the Bison with 29 receptions for 563 yards and 3 TDs in 10 games.  He averaged almost 20 yards per reception.

For his career, Carter has grabbed 119 catches for 1,670 yards and 14 TDs for almost 16 yards per catch.

Carter joins two other MEAC wide receivers on the list of 38:  Javaris Brown of Hampton University and Justin Wilson of Delaware State.
