McGhee Named Rookie of the Week for Third Time
Greg McGhee has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference
Rookie of the Week for the third
time this season. A 6-3, 200-pound freshman quarterback from
Pittsburgh, PA, McGhee completed 11of 17 passes for 158 yards and
three TDs while also rushing for a 57-yard TD run in Howard
University’s 34-14 win over Savannah State this past
Saturday. The win snapped a 29-game conference losing streak
dating back to 2007.
It was one of McGhee’s most complete efforts of the season
as he threw no interceptions. His
touchdown run was the first of his career.
McGhee was recently named to the Inaugural Jerry Rice Award
Watch List for the top freshmen
players in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
