NATIONAL FOOTBALL SIGNING DAY 2013 HOWARD EDITION

WASHINGTON, D.C. (www.howard-bison.com) – February 6 – At the top of the 9:00 a.m. hour, the Howard University football team announces the following new members to the 2013 HU Bison football squad.

From Indianapolis, Ind., a 6-2, 248 lb., long snapper out of Cathedral High School, Austin Orr.  Orr completed the 40-yard dash in 5.3 sec, notches a vertical leap of 28", in terms of physical strength, the projected 2013 graduate bench presses 300 lbs. and squats 425 lbs.  Orr was a two-time Nike Top 12 recipient and a three-time State Champion.

Out of Hallandale, Fla., Howard welcomes 6-5, 275 lb., offensive tackle, Ronald Nielly.  Nielly hails from Hallandale High School.

Joining Nielly from Hallandale High School is Robert Alexander.  Alexander is a 6-0, 240 lb., linebacker.  Physically, Alexander bench presses 405 lbs. and can squat 605 lbs., on the speed and agility side, the June 2013 graduate completed the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds and reached 39" during the vertical leap test.  Academically, Alexander intends to major in engineering.

From Hopewell High School in Hopewell, Va., comes 6-5, 250 lbs., offensive lineman, Howard Warren.  On the athletic end, Warren completed the 40-yard dash in 4.9 seconds, bench presses 280 lbs., and squats, 330 lbs., while maintaining a 3.6 grade point average.  Warren is member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club and DECA.

The Howard 2013 defensive roster will consist of Mid-West defensive end Richard Johnson.  Johnson hails from John Hay High School in Cleveland, Ohio.  Physically, Johnson is 6-3, 245 lbs., with the ability to run 40-yards in 4.84 seconds and 100 meters in 11.6 seconds.  Johnson is a two-time Senate All-star (2011 and 2012) and a member of the 2012 Ohio AP Div. III 1st Team Defense.
