Howard University head football coach Gary "Flea" Harrell has been named the Local College Coach of the year by the DC Touchdown Club.

Harrell, in his second year as head coach at his alma mater, led the Bison to a 7-4 record and 6-2 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.  Howard was picked to finish eighth in the conference but Harrell led the Bison to a second place finish, recording the most wins by a Howard team in a decade in the process.

Harrell will be honored at the Inaugural Awards Dinner on Friday, March 8 at Carmine's, located at 425 7th NW.
