The Game
This is a non conference match-up between the Bison of Howard University from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and the Keydets of Virginia Military Institute from the Big South Conference. The Bison (3-6) are coming off a 66-54 loss to American University this past Tuesday on the road while the Keydets (3-5) dropped an 89-88 road decision to South Carolina State on Tuesday.

The Coaches
Howard is coached by Gil Jackson (Elizabethtown College,
'69), who is in his third season and has an 18-48 career record to
date. VMI is coached by Duggar Baucom (University of North
Carolina Charlotte, '95), who is in his third season and has a
24-44 record to date there. Baucom's overall slate is 61-63
in 5-plus seasons of coaching.
Series Record
In a wild and wacky affair at Burr Gymnasium, the Bison
prevailed, 116-111 in a shootout that featured a career-high 41
points by Myatt and 28 by Daryl Hudson that offset 30 by VMI's
Reggie Williams and 24 by Travis Holmes. Howard leads the
series, 2-1.
Keydet Notes
VMI is averaging almost 100 points per game...the Keydets
have had games of 156 points vs Columbia Union and 135 vs
Dartmouth...four players are averaging in double figures...VMI is
averaging almost 20 assists per game, 12 three pointers made per
game and almost 15 steals per game...the Keydets led the nation in
scoring last season, averaging over 100 points.
Bison Hooves
Myatt leads the team in scoring, in three-point shooting, in
assists and in minutes played...both he and Jeron Smith are
shooting over 50 percent from the field...Paul Kirkpatrick followed
up his team-leading, 10-point performance in the loss to Hampton
with a team-leading 7-rebound effort against American...Smith's
four steals against American were a career best...he leads the team
with 17...as a team, Howard is shooting only 26 percent from
three-point range...the Bison have had troubles rebounding as their
opponents hold a 10-rebound per game advantage...Howard is on a
pace to have one of its best seasons in recent years in blocked
shots...the Bison currently have 42, an average of over 4 per
game...Walker leads the way with 11.
