Bison and Mids Face Off in Non-Conference Tilt

THE GAME: Tuesday's contest is a non-conference match-up between the Mids of the US Naval Academy and the Bison of Howard University.  Navy (2-5) enters the game with a two-game losing streak, having dropped a 71-67 decision to Penn in the Philly Classic on Saturday and a 79-75 loss to Seton Hall on Friday.  Howard (2-4) is also on a two-game skid after a 72-53 loss to Robert Morris on Saturday and a 73-58 loss to Loyola (Md.) this past Friday and Saturday in the Philly Classic.

THE COACHES: Navy is coached by Billy Lange (Rowan, ‘94), who is in his fourth season there and has a 36-57 record to date.  Howard is coached by Gil Jackson (Elizabethtown College, '69), who is in his third season and has an 18-47 career record to date.

SERIES RECORD: Navy defeated Howard, 79-75 in Annapolis, MD last year and holds a 2-0 record in the series, having won 82-73 in Burr in 2005.

NAVY SAILS: Navy has had 40 of its shots blocked, a average of over four per game...the Mids have been hurt by foul trouble with seven disqualifications...Sprinks is averaging almost 20 points per game but he is shooting only 33 percent from the field...he is taking almost eight three-point attempts per game.

BISON HOOVES: Myatt is shooting 55 percent from the field and 42 percent from three-point range...Howard is on a pace to have a record-breaking season in blocked shots...the Bison already have 25 with Adam Walker leading the way with nine...Howard has had problems with turnovers, averaging almost 17 per game.

NEXT UP: Navy hosts Towson on Thursday at 7 pm while the Bison travel to New York to play Hampton in the Big Apple Classic of Saturday at 9 pm in Madison Square Garden.
