THE GAME: This is a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference match-up between the Bison of Howard University and the Spartans of Norfolk State University.  The Bison (4-14, 3-1 MEAC) are coming off an 82-77 win over North Carolina A & T University on Saturday, January 16^th.  The Spartans (3-12 overall, 2-2 in the MEAC) are also coming off a 66-50 win over Hampton University on Saturday, January 16^th.  This is the 26^th meeting between these two teams with the Spartans having a 17-8 advantage.

THE COACHES:  Howard is coached by Gil Jackson (Elizabethtown, '69), who is in his fifth season and has a 34-107 career record to date.  Norfolk State is coached by Anthony Evans (St. Thomas Aquinas '94), who is in his third season and has an overall record of 32-45.

SCOUTING REPORT: Mike Phillips has been named MEAC Rookie of the Week three times this season.  Sophomore Calvin Thompson has risen to the leadership role, having led the team in scoring 10 games this season.   Freshman Dadrian Collins has come on strong of late and has been a key factor in the team's success with his scoring.   Senior Curtis White has developed into a leader as well improving his stats markedly over the last four games.

MEDIA NOTES:  The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU as part of the MEAC/ESPNU TV Package.  Charlie Neal will provide the play by play and Stan Lewter will handle the color commentary.
