THE GAME: This is a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament first round match-up between the Aggies of North Carolina A&T, the Number 9 seed and the Bison of Howard University, the Number 8 seed.  The Aggies (10-21) finished the regular season with a 67-66 loss to Norfolk State on Thursday at home.  The Bison (7-24 overall) are coming off a 90-42 loss to Hampton University this past Thursday on the road.   

THE SERIES: Howard won both games this season, 82-77 in Greensboro, NC on January 16 and 59-49 at Howard on February 13.  This is the 98th meeting between the two rivals and the Aggies hold a 55-42 advantage.

THE COACHES:    North Carolina A&T is coached by Jerry Eaves (Louisville '86), who is in his seventh season there and he has an overall record of 71-141.  Eaves formerly served as an assistant coach with Howard from 1990-94. The Bison are coached by Gil Jackson (Elizabethtown, '69), who is in his fifth season and has a 37-115 record to date.
