Bison Booters Come Up Short; Finish As Runnersup

Philadelphia, PA-September 10-Drexel freshman Fabio Assumpace scored the game's only goal and helped the host defeat Howard University, 1-0 in the finals of the Drexel Invitational.  The Bison Booters (1-3-1) finished as runnersup after defeating LaSalle University, 2-1 in Friday's opening round.

Howard, which has played well of late and appears to be coming on, had several near misses but were unable as the Dragon (4-1) made Assumpace's goal 5 minutes in the game hold up.

Bison goalkeeper Chris Taylor, who allowed only 2 goals during the tournament, was credited with 8 saves as Drexel was able to get 21 shots, 9 on goal.

Marcel Storer was named tournament defensive MVP while Nashid Sabree, Joel Senior and Taylor were named to the all-tournament team.
