Bison Drop Home Match To Longwood

                                             Howard Men Fall In OT

Washington, DC-October 21-The Howard men's soccer team gave a great effort in its home game against Longwood University, but a goal by the visitors' Cherner Diallo almost seven minutes into overtime proved to be the difference as the Bison fell, 1-0 in an Atlantic Soccer Conference match-up in Greene Stadium.

Diallo's goal came off a corner kick that was assisted by Martin Vickerton.

"Our fitness was up and we were running and attacking," explained Howard freshman Joel Senior, who leads the team in assists and shots on goal.  "We just had a lack of concentration at the end that allowed them to score."

Chris Taylor had a fine game in goal as he was credited with six saves.  Lemuel Lyons led the team in shots with 3 while both of Senior's shots were on goal.

Howard (3-12-1, 0-5 in the ASC) closes out the regular season on Friday at 2 pm against Florida Atlantic in Greene Stadium.  It will be Seniors Day.
