Bison Booters Blanked By UMBC

WASHINGTON, D.C. - UMBC erupted for three second half goals and went on to blank Howard, 4-0 in a non-conference men's soccer game at Greene Stadium.

The Retrievers (8-4-3) got on the board first when Sean Rothie scored in the 31st minute. UMBC set the tone for the physical game that saw eight yellow flags handed out when Kevin Gnatiko scored four minutes into the second half.  BJ Quigley and Matt Ward each added a goal to close out the scoring for the Retrievers.

Howard (3-4-5) managed six shots in the second half was unable to break the Retrievers defense. Lamar Hyde led the Bison with 4 shots while Victor Thomas had four saves.

NEXT UP: The Bison host NJIT in an Atlantic Soccer Conference (ASC) match on Saturday at 7 pm in Greene Stadium.  It will be Senior Night as five members of the team will be playing their last home game in a Bison uniform.
