FAIRFAX, VA. - GW's Erick Perez-Signini scored the game-winning goal with three seconds left in double overtime to lift the Colonials to a 3-2 dramatic win over Howard Sunday afternoon at the D.C. College Cup.
The Colonials took their first lead when Abimbola Pedro scored two minutes into the first half. The Bison tied the score seven minutes later when Guilherme Fonseca scored on an assist from Emile Innocent.
After Luke Wildy added a goal for GW midway through the first half, Howard answered with another goal when Lamar Hyde scored in the 33rd minute, forcing a 2-2 deadlock at the intermission.
Statistically, the Bison were outshot, 20-12 by George Washington while HU tallied five corner kicks to GW's 11. Bison goalkeeper Chris Taylor picked up three saves.
Howard returns to action on Sept. 5 with a road contest at Mount St. Mary's at 4 pm.
