Men's Soccer Cruises to a 3-0 Win Over Columbia Union

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Howard men's soccer team pushed its record to 2-3-3 on the season with a 3-0 victory over the Columbia Union Pioneers Sunday evening at Greene Stadium.

Offensively, the Bison put the Pioneer defense on its heels all evening, taking 15 shots to Columbia Union's four, including an 8-3 difference in the second period of play. Guilherme Fonseca and Emile Innocent both found the back of the net for the Bison. Fonseca chalked up two goals and Innocent added one.

Howard goalkeeper Victor Thomas played all 90 minutes and made one save in the Bison's victory.

HU had eight offsides compared to three by the Pioneers. The Bison committed eight fouls while the visitors finished with seven.

Howard hits the road for its next contest, traveling to Philadelphia to take on Philadelphia University in its conference opener on Saturday, October 6. The match is slated to begin at noon.
