Former Soccer Star Emile Innocent Playing for Haitian National Team

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Former Howard University Men's Soccer star, Emile Innocent, has been selected to participate in the training camp for the Haitian National team in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

The team recently participated in its first scrimmage and won, 5-1, against a local team in Orlando. Innocent played the entire match and the coach was impressed with his performance. The team is currently in preparation for the third round of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier.

The Haitian national team is most famously known as the first Caribbean country to qualify for the World Cup in 1974. Currently, they have earned placement in Group C, where they will face countries like Costa Rica, Suriname and El Salvador.
