FARMVILLE, VA. - The Bison booters wrapped up its regular season with a 3-1 loss to NJIT in the opening round of the Atlantic Soccer (ASC) Tournament Wednesday afternoon in Farmville, Va.
The Bison took an early lead when junior Lemuel Lyons put one past the keeper at 10:12 on an assist from Frederick Burgess.
The Highlanders evened things up at 37:37 after Eddie Romero scored on a pass from Erik Magnusson.
NJIT scored two goals in the second half to put the lead out of reach for HU (1-16-2, 0-5 ASC).
Lyons and Guilherme Fonseca finished with two shot attemps each with Rotimi Iziduh, William Hubbard and Ray Ekobena each chipping in one shot apiece.
Senior goalkeeper Adisa Bekoe stopped six shots while NJIT keeper Ryan Sutherland finished with five saves.
The Highlanders (4-13-2, 2-3 ASC) were paced by Romero, Magnusson and Osvaldo Perez, who finished with five shot attempts each.
