MIAMI, FLA. - Lemuel Lyons and Matt Marshall each had one goal apiece but FIU found the back of the net in the 88th minute for the 4-2 win Sunday afternoon in Miami, Fla.
The Bison led 15-8 in shot attempts and took six corner kicks compared to three by the Golden Panthers.
FIU's Sebastian Frings scored in the 19th minute and gave Florida Atlantic a 1-0 lead going into the break.
The Golden Panthers (3-2) added a goal in the second half before Lemuel Lyons put a goal in the back of the net in the 73rd minute. Florida Atlantic scored again with nine minutes left, but Matt Marshall closed HU within a goal after scoring at 85:20.
Diego Tamburus added an insurance goal for FIU with just over a minute left to seal the win.
Senior goalkeeper Victor Thomas had two saves in the Bison loss.
Howard (0-4) travels to Emmitsburg, Md. on Friday for a contest against Mount St. Mary's before making its home debut against Marist on Sunday.
