Boxscore

HOUSTON, TEXAS - The Howard men's soccer team allowed a goal early in the first half, but could not find the equalizer in a 1-0 defeat to San Jose State in the final round of the HBU Classic.

The two teams played in harsh conditions and took the field after a one hour delay due to storms in the Houston area.

Freshman Larry Turner made his season debut in the net and stopped three shots in the Bison loss.

Ricky Dorrego scored the game winner for SJSU (4-6-1) after scoring off a rebound in the 26th minute.

Howard (2-8) next travels to VMI for a 4 p.m. game on Oct. 7.
