WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Howard University men's soccer team concluded its 2010 spring season with wins against two local schools; Shepherd University 1-0, and Marymount University 4-2.
The players attribute this success to hard work, commitment and dedication over the past couple of months. Junior Midfielder, Rodino Wright stated, “The commitment from the players this spring is critical to our preparation for next fall”.
Coach Lawrence commented, “I thought our preparation was very purposeful. The team made tremendous progress technically, overall they really got a chance to learn each other's strengths. Most importantly, we got a chance to plant the seeds of success. The players are much stronger. You could tell in the way they play, thanks to the excellent job done by the strength and conditioning staff.”
The freshman players made a tremendous impact on the games this spring. Patrick Rose and Adrian Walton had two goals and one assist each. Junior Jamil Devers explained, “Collaboration is strong and will play major role in our success this fall.” The team goes about their daily activities like individuals on a journey, with dedication and hard work as their motto. Team members are committed and are practicing all the time.
The Bison men’s soccer team is scheduled to commence its season on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at American University, 5:00 PM. Look out for the complete men's soccer schedule in mid June. The team is on the move.
