Howard Drops Home Opener To Mount Saint Mary’s
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Chris scored a goal in each half to lead Mount Saint Mary's to a 2-0 win over Howard University in men's non-league soccer match at Greene Stadium.
Wheeler's first goal came at the 26.10 mark following an assist from Alex Ockford. He scored the other goal in the 54th minute when he headed an Eric Detzel free kick into the right net.
The Bison (1-2, 0-0 in the ASC) played stronger in the second half, holding a 7-3 advantage on shots. Jamil Devers led Howard with three shots while Phillip Borde and Claudy St. Louis each recorded two shots.
The Bison will try to get back in the win column when they take on Coastal Carolina in the first round of the Adidas Tournament in Conway, SC on Friday at 7 pm.
