The Howard University men's soccer program has announced its camp dates for the summer, July 12-16 and online registration is open. Campers ages 4-17 have the option of choosing half or full day and space is limited.

Men's Soccer Gives Back to the Community
The Howard University men’s soccer team took their places in the arena. They were prepared for anything that would come in those few hours. With the first tap of the ball to booted feet, squeals of delight fill the air. Yes, squeals, from the hundreds of elementary school children ready to learn some fancy footwork from the Howard University men’s soccer players who are bouncing the ball around on heads, shoulders, knees and toes.

Borde Named ASC Rookie of the Year; Three Players Awarded with All-ASC Honors
Howard men’s soccer freshman Phillip Borde was named the ASC Rookie of the Year in voting conducted by the league’s head coaches. Borde was also named to the ASC first-team and was joined by teammate Matt Marshall. Goalkeeper Victor Thomas garnered second team honors and Howard placed a league-high four members on the ASC All-Academic team.

Junior Rodino Wright converted a first half penalty kick as Howard played to a 1-1 tie against NJIT. The decision was the final home contest for seniors Victor Thomas, Lemuel Lyons, Kareem Williams, Lamar Hyde, Harvey Livingston, Rotimi Iziduh and Gregory Westbrook.

Senior goalkeeper Victor Thomas (Scarborough,Trinidad/Signal Hill) was named the Atlantic Soccer Conference (ASC) Goalie of the Week, the league announced today. It was second time this season that Thomas has garnered the honor.

Lamar Hyde provided the equalizer as the Howard men's soccer team tied VMI, 1-1. Freshman Larry Turner made a career-high 10 saves for the Bison. Olivia Moore had a goal for the Keydets, while Brian Sowell made seven saves.

Howard Wins Second Straight; Defeats Marist 3-1
The Howard men's soccer team scored two second half goals to defeat Marist, 3-1 in its home opener Sunday afternoon at Greene Stadium. Christopher Sutherland tallied a goal while Phillip Borde and Jamil Devers also added a goal a piece to lead the Bison (2-4). Victor Thomas made six saves while Joe Pilla had seven saves for the Red Foxes (3-2-1).

Howard was nipped by No. 19 George Mason, 2-1 in the opening day of fhe DC Cup Wednesday evening at Fairfax, Va. The Bison tied things up midway through the second half on a Matt Marshall goal, but GMU scored the go ahead goal in the 86th minute.

Howard defeated Mary Washington, 1-0 in its final preseason game Saturday afternoon at Greene Stadium. HU wraps up the preseason with an unblemished 3-0 record and opens up its regular season on Wednesday against George Mason in the DC Cup.
