WILLIAMSBURG, VA. - #57 William & Mary shutout Howard, 7-0, in men's tennis action Friday evening in Williamsburg, Va.
Christopher Brown and Armon Murray teamed up at first doubles but could not overcome the pair of Alex Cojanu and Dominic Pagon, who claimed an 8-1 victory. Kavi Sud and Ben Gullickson took down Neilahb Avasthi and Amato Nocera by the same score at No. 2 and Howard was forced to default the other doubles match.
Cojanu got the best of Brown at first singles 6-0, 6-1 while Marwan Ramadan took care of Avasthi, 6-3, 6-2. Varun Pandit downed Chad Jones and Ben Wirth ensured the shutout with a win over Nocera. The Tribe won No. 6 singles by a walkover.
Howard returns to action tomorrow with a pair of MEAC matchups against Maryland Eastern Shore and Delaware State at Princess Anne, Md.
