Georgetown Defeats Howard in Men's Tennis Action

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Howard men's tennis team was downed by Georgetown, 7-0 in a crosstown matchup at McDonough Tennis Complex in Washington, D.C.

Christopher Brown was downed 6-1, 6-2 by Jeffrey Schnell at the #1 singles spot while Neilahb Avasthi played tough at #2 but fell 6-3, 3-6 (10-6) to GU's Adam Gross. Kenneth Wong defeated Armon Murray, 6-1, 6-1 and Chad Jones was downed by Tim Walsh at #4, 6-0, 7-5. Kevin Walsh defeated Amato Nocera at the #5 singles spot, 6-1, 6-1.

Brown and Murray fell 8-3 in doubles action while the team of Kevin Walsh and Kenneth Wong took down Avasthi and Nocera 8-2 at the #2 doubles spot.

Howard (0-7) opens up MEAC play at home next week with a contest against Morgan State on March 27 at 2 p.m.
