NORFOLK, VA. - Christopher Brown fell 6-4, 6-3 to Timo Gehrke at #1 singles in a solid outing as the Bison were blanked by Old Dominion, 7-0 in Howard's season opening match on Sunday.
Neilahb Avasthi fell 6, 6-4 to Dan Couzens at #2 and #3 Armon Murray was downed 6-4, 6-0 by ODU's Matt King. Riley King defeated #4 Amato Nocera 6-0, 6-1 to claim the fourth point and the Monarchs went on to win the final two sets by walkovers.
In doubles action, Couzens and Gehrke took down #1 Brown and Murray 8-2. Matt King and Riley King defeated Avasthi and Nocera 8-1 and the final set was won by ODU by a walkover.
Howard returns to action on Friday with a non-conference match against George Washington at Noon.
