CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The shorthanded Howard's men's tennis team dropped a 5-0 decision to #8 UNC on March 2 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Christopher Brown had a good outing at the #1
spot but fell 6-3, 6-1 to Benjamin Carlotti, while Neilahb Avasthi
was downed at the #2 spot 6-2, 6-0 to David Stone. Armon Murray was
defeated 6-0, 6-3 by Karl Wishart at the #3 spot. Chad Jones was
blanked 6-0, 6-0 by Andrew Crone at the #4 spot, while Amato Nocera
fell 6-0, 6-0 to Kyle Baker at the #5 spot. North Carolina won the
#6 matchup by a walkover.
In doubles action, Brown and Murray fell 8-1 to Lenny Gullan and
Stone at the #1 spot, while Avasthi and Nocera were blanked
8-0 by UNC's Tristan Heinrich and Carlotti at the #2
spot. North Carolina won the #3 matchup by a walkover.
Howard returns to action on March 12 in a
non-conference matchup against James Madison at
Harrisonburg, Va.
