UMBC Shuts out Howard in Men's Tennis

BALTIMORE, MD. - UMBC shut out Howard, 7-0, in a men's tennis affair on Wednesday at the Hilton Racquet Club in Baltimore, Md.

Christopher Brown took a tough loss to UMBC's Chris Meyer at the No. 1 singles, dropping the decision 6-0, 5-7, (10-3). Nick Savage-Pollock defeated Neilabh Avasthi, 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 2 singles and Armon Murray was downed 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3. Chad Jones was blaned 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 4 singles while Amato Nocera fell 6-1, 6-0 to Retreiver Logan Bricker.

Brown and Murray dropped the No. 1 doubles 8-4 while Avasthi and Nocera were downed 8-3 at the No. 2 singles by Meyer and Fredi Voorman.

Howard (0-10) returns to action this weekend with a MEAC matchup against UMES on Sunday at 1 pm.
