VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. - Michael Gee was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tennis Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday. Omar Haloui was named the Rookie of the Week as both players recieved the honor for the second time this season.

Gee went 1-1 at the number singles position for the Bison last week.  In his first conference win of the season, the senior defeated Coppin State's James Jeffreys in straight sets 6-0, 6-3. Against James Madison's Jared Robinson, he battled in a 6-3, 6-4 loss.

Haloui defeated Coppin State's Quincy Darko in straight sets 6-3, 6-1 and teamed up with Michael Gee to capture the doubles point in the 7-0 team victory. In a loss against James Madison, Haloui battled at number three singles position but fell 6-3, 4-6, 10-4 to Tommi Nissinen.

The Bison return to action on Thursday with a home contest against UMBC.
