WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Bison men's and women's tennis teams swept Delaware State in conference matchups Saturday at Banneker Courts. The men's squad won 5-2 while the Lady Bison were victorious, 4-3.
On the women's side, Ashley Moore won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles and Michele Gee defeated Christina Andrade Pires, 7-6, 2-6, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. Whitney Ambush won at No. 4 singles and Gee teamed up with Alyssa Works for an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles.
Lauren Fenn and Moore won 8-4 at No. 2 doubles.
The men's team saw a No. 1 singles victory from Michael Gee. Gee made easy work of Brian Gelis, winning 6-0, 6-1. Christopher Brown won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Omar Haloui was victorious at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-1. Tonique Merrell won 8-6 at No. 5.
Haloui and Gee won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles and Gee/Merrell teamed up for an 8-6 over Oleg Mirondnikov and Roman Pitatelev at No. 2.
