VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. - Eric Chavous was named the MEAC Rookie of the Week, the conference announced today.

Chavous picked up his first doubles victory of the year after teaming up with George Diggs in a 8-6 win over NJIT's Dan Salomon/Bryan Keelan.

Chavous is the third Bison to receive a MEAC honor this season. Teammate Omar Halou garnered league rookie of the week honors on Feb. 12 while Michael Gee was named MEAC Player of the Week.

Howard faces #22 UNC on Saturday in a 6 p.m. matchup in Chapel Hill, N.C.
