Gee, Haloui Grab MEAC Weekly Honors

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. - Howard senior Michael Gee (Staten Island, N.Y./Clemson) was named the MEAC Player of the Week while freshman Omar Haloui (Rabat, Morocco/Lycee Descartes) garnered MEAC Rookie of the Week honors, the conference announced on Thursday.

Gee battled through a tough matchup against Navy's Johnny Waters on Feb. 7. After tying the game with one set a piece, Gee fell in third set 1-0 (11-9 tiebreaker).

Haloui won the first set 6-3 and fell 7-6 (7-3) in the second set against Navy's Eddie Konrad.

Howard returns to action on Saturday with a matchup against NJIT in Tenafly, N.J.
