Haloui Wins No. 3 Singles vs. Richmond

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Freshman Omar Haloui defeated Matt Feeley at No. 3 singles during play versus Richmond on Monday. The Bison dropped the match, 6-1.

The Morocco native dropped the first set but came from behind to win 2-6, 7-6, 10-5 in singles action. Haloui later teamed up with Christopher Brown for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles.  

The shorthanded Bison fought through injuries. Michael Gee, normally the No. 1 seed, played at No. 2 doubles and fell 1-0 before retiring.

Brown played at No. 1 singles and dropped a 6-4, 2-0 decision before retiring.

The Bison fell at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles due to a shortage of players.

Howard (6-16, 3-2 MEAC), the #3 seed in the upcoming conference championship, travels to Raleigh, N.C. on April 17-19 for shot at the league title.
