Howard Blanks Coppin State in Men's Tennis Action
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Howard blanked Coppin State, 7-0 in a MEAC tennis matchup Friday afternoon at Banneker Courts.
Senior Michael Gee won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles and Christopher Brown defeated Viktor Lemberger, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2. Freshman Omar Haloui won at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-1 and Chad Jones was victorious with an 8-0 win over Tervell Johnson at No. 4. Tonique Merrell had an easy 6-0, 6-0 win over Oshain Blake at No. 5 singles.
Gee and Haloui won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles while Jones/Brown teamed up for an 8-0 win at No. 2.
Howard (3-9, 1-0 MEAC) is back in action on Sunday at James Madison in Harrisonburg, Va.
