Apr 8, 2009 Men's Tennis Wins Second StraightEMMITSBURG, MD. - Men's tennis won its second straight decision with a 5-2 victory over Mount St. Mary's Wednesday afternoon in Emmitsburg, Md. Senior Michael Gee won at No. 1 singles and Christopher Brown was victorious at No. 2, 6-1, 6-2. Freshman Omar Haloui defeated Patrick Plastow, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles and Tonique Merrell won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5. Brown and Haloui won a tough decision at No. 1 doubles, 9-8 and Gee/Merrell teamed up for an 8-3 win at No. 2. Howard dropped No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles due to a shortage of players. The Bison improved to 6-12 with the win. HU travels to George Washington for a cross-town matchup on Friday at 4pm. |
