NJIT Edges Howard in Men's Tennis Action

TENAFLY, N.J. - NJIT edged Howard, 4-3, in a men's tennis matchup on Feb. 14 at the Tenafly Racquet Club.

George Diggs picked up his first singles win after downing Jonathan Lang, 6-2, 7-5 at No. 4. Chad Jones was also victorious after picking up come from behind win at No. 6 singles. Jones defeated Dimitri Athans 4-6, 6-3, 7-6.

Michael Gee and Omar Haloui had tough matchups but were downed at No. 1 and No. 3, respectively. Gee won the second set but fell 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 to Steve Erickinson while Haloui won the first set but was downed 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 by Cosmin Chiujdea.

Christopher Brown and Gee were victorious at No. 1 doubles, downing Calle Lindquist/Cosmin Chiujdea 9-7 while the duo of Eric Chavous and Diggs won their matchup, an 8-6 win at No. 3.

Howard travels to UNC Chapel Hill on Friday for a matchup against the nationally ranked Tar Heels beginning at 6pm.
