Bison Picked Second in MEAC Preseason Poll

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Howard men's and women's tennis squads were picked second in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) preseason poll, it was announced yesterday.

The Bison men finished 3-2 in MEAC play last season. Sophomore Omar Haloui finished an unblemished 5-0 in conference play while junior Christopher Brown had a 4-1 MEAC mark in individual action.

The Lady Bison finished 4-1 in conference play in 2008-09. Sophomore Ashley Moore was named to the All-MEAC Second Team en route to a 4-1 mark in individual play.

Howard tennis opens up its spring campaign on Jan. 31 with a matchup against Maryland. The Lady Bison open their season on Feb. 12 vs. Navy.
