EMMITSBURG, MD. - Omar Haloui, George Diggs and Eric Chavous all posted singles victories, but Mount St. Mary's edged Howard 4-3 in a non-conference match on Tuesday at the MSM Tennis Courts.
Haloui improved to 4-6 on the season with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Patrick Plastow at No. 1 singles.
Diggs reached 4-5 on the season with a 7-6, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles versus Thad Mostowtt.
Chavous also upped his record with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles over Andrew Marinucci.
Haloui and Wharton improved to 4-6 in doubles play with a 9-8 victory at the No. 1 position.
Mount St. Mary's won the No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches and earned the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Howard (2-8, 2-0 MEAC) resumes conference play on April 2 vs. Maryland Eastern Shore and Delaware State.
