WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Howard men's tennis team rolled over Morgan State, 5-2 to remain undefeated in conference play on Saturday at Banneker Courts.
The Bison won four of the six singles matchups and preceded that with a sweep in doubles action.
Omar Haloui defeated Eric Ward, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and George Diggs followed that with an easy 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. Tonique Merrell was victorious after defeating Duwane Thomas at No. 5 and Brandon Burns took down James Lee, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.
Haloui and Devard Wharton teamed up for an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles. Merrell and Eric Chavous picked up an 8-6 win at No. 2 and Diggs/Burns teamed up for a win at No. 3 doubles.
Howard (2-6, 2-0 MEAC) travels to Navy and Mount St. Mary's before resuming league action on Friday, April 2 vs. Maryland Eastern Shore.
