Men's Tennis Downed by UMBC

BALTIMORE, MD. - UMBC downed Howard 7-0 in a non-conference match on Thursday at the UMBC Tennis Complex.

The Retrievers won all five contested singles matches and also won the doubles point via victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

Devard Wharton started out by leading 6-4 at No. 1 singles, but Chris Meyer came back for the 4-6, 6-0, 6-2 victory.

Omar Haloui dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to Fredi Voorman at No. 2 singles and Eric Chavous was defeated by Adam Duprat 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. George Diggs fell 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4 singles and Brandon Burns dropped a 6-1, 6-1 contest at No. 5.
 
Howard (0-4) returns to action on March 16-18 at the Virginia Beach Team Tournament.
