Radford, VA-March 27--Rischelle Charles and Tracy Javier of the Howard University women’s softball team were named to the Highlander Classic All-Tournament Team this past weekend.

While competing in the tournament that featured Longwood, Georgetown, and Radford University, the Lady Bison (11-9) went 2-2 with losses to Longwood, 0-8 and to Radford, 8-10 and victories over Georgetown Hoyas 9-2 and 11-3 in the consolation game. 

Charles, a senior from Annapolis, MD (Annapolis High School), is batting .431 on the season and banged out 5 hits, including 2 doubles, a triple, 4 runs and 4 RBI’s during the tournament.

Javier, a junior from Bellflower, CA (St. Joseph’s High School), is averaging .371 for the Lady Bison finished the tournament with 5 hits, a home run, a double and 3 runs during the tournament.

Howard has won six of its last eight and will next play at UMBC on Tuesday before returning home on Friday for a MEAC doubleheader against Coppin State beginning at 1 p.m. at Banneker Stadium.
